ABOUT CSMMM

The California State Mining and Mineral Museum is publicly owned and is accessible to all people. Oversight and evaluation of this project is conducted by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation in accordance with State rules and regulations governing museums.

PLANS FOR OUR
FUTURE MUSEUM:

The new complex will include a large theater that will serve the community as a meeting place and lecture hall.

Traveling specimen displays to visit the main museum in Mariposa.

Visitors to this museum will include the millions who visit nearby Yosemite National Park annually, as well as the Mariposa Visitors Center. Bus service to and from Yosemite will serve this center. Education is a major reason to visit this region and the museum will be a world-class learning center for California geology and historic and current mining information.
